VENUEWaitawheta Camp is 9km from Waihi and 16km from Waihi Beach, situated in the Hauraki District at the foot of the Coromandel. The closest airport is Tauranga, an hour’s drive away. The camp is close to large areas of native New Zealand bush and rivers, including one of New Zealand’s top ten natural attractions – the Karangahake Gorge and the Hauraki Rail Trail. VENUE ACCOMMODATIONWhile accommodation is not included in your ticket, there are several affordable options:
- Bunkroom accommodation is available at Waitawheta Camp with shared bathroom facilities. Please bring your own sleeping bag/linen, pillow and towels.
- There are also tent and campervan/caravan sites available at the camp.

FOOD PROVISIONAll meals mentioned in the agenda are included in your ticket price, and the most common dietary requirements will be catered for. If you have any special requirements, you’re welcome to supplement our menu with your own provisions. Drinks (other than drinking water) will not be provided so please bring your own. . . .
FIELDTRIP TRANSPORTAs the conference capacity is approx. 100 people and the fieldtrip venues are close to the camp, we will be car-pooling. This enables us to reduce our ticket costs. We will need the use of approximately 20 cars to accommodate everyone. . . .
WHAT ELSE SHOULD I BRING?Bring your musical instrument, if you play, and on Sunday after dinner we’ll provide our own entertainment! . . .
TICKET INFORMATIONTICKET SALES CLOSE AT MIDNIGHT ON MONDAY 15TH MARCH Two-Day Tickets are available for immediate purchase via Paypal at the bottom of the page. Sunday-Only Tickets are available by filling in the contact form below. To pay with your credit/debit card select ‘Pay without a Paypal Account’ in the payment window. A receipt will be automatically issued by email. Ticket prices include GST. Available tickets include Ticket-Only (for renewed 2021 members), the option of adding Farm or Commercial Membership to your ticket, and Non-Member tickets. (Please note that, this year, we cannot offer reduced rates for those wishing to bring a partner.) Once your ticket is purchased, we’ll contact you to confirm your place and send registration documents. Spaces are limited, and sold on a first-come, first-served basis. Any ticket cancellations will be refunded (minus a small admin fee) until Friday March 12th. After this date, refunds are at the ODPG’s discretion. (Special circumstances related to Covid-19 are covered in the next section.) . . .
COVID-19 NOTICEIn the event of conference cancellation due to any Covid-19 restrictions, full refunds will be given for your conference tickets regardless of the date of cancellation, minus a small handling fee. Please note that the ODPG are not responsible for the refund of separately-booked accommodation and travel. Refunds would need to be requested from the individual providers. . . .
