Rich Pasture Workshop: Te Awamutu

MONDAY 25th FEBRUARY: 9:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m

Venue: The Grahams’ Farm, Kihikihi

“Looks like the weather is going to be just perfect, so do bring your enthusiasm and questions to help explore how pastures can become richer.

It is a diverse equation which all starts in the soil but has many interacting factors. The soil itself is a diverse science that has not been fully unravelled. But some scientists are getting there. Then what are we growing pastures for? We’ll explore that question as well as what other elements in the whole system interact and are of value and equal importance.

Bruce and Sue, our hosts, grow hay. How can we get best value hay? What Brix should we be aiming for? What elements need to be recognised to offer nutrient dense mineral rich hay? What other elements need to be considered or thought about for pastures and tucker?”

See you there!
