All done and dusted

Well back to bit of normality after a hectic week culminating in the 2024 ODPG Conference and AGM on the 5th and 6th of April.

Over two evenings we had over 50 enthusiastic attendees listen to our excellent speakers, experience an insightful field day and enjoy the best foods Hawkes Bay has to offer. There was a lot of thoughtful and robust discussion on the challenges and pathways forward for both the organic and wider farming sector. It was great to see old and new faces from far and wide gathered together again.

Thank you to our speakers; Dr Phillip Schofield, Ben Bostock, Phyllis Tichinin, Rick Carmont and Tiffany Tompkins. Thank you to John Kamp for his insights on the field day to Incline Farm, and to Willie White who leases the property, for allowing us to look over some of the stock. Special thanks to Gaz Ingram who MC’d the event, and keep us on time and schedule. Extra special thanks to Phyllis Tichinin, who was indispensable in the organisation of the conference.

The ODPG AGM was held on Saturday and thanks to all that attended, and those who past on there apologies and voting right. We have two new executive members, who we’ll introduce over the coming weeks, but welcome aboard Craig and Lynne.

On behalf of the ODPG Committee I’d like to thank you all for being part of what has been a well received conference. We’ve already had many positive comments back from attendees, speakers and our generous sponsors. Many great discussions were had. We appreciate your support and thanks to everyone who attended for their contributions to both the event and to the wider organic and regenerative farming community.
