ODPG Conference Spotlight: Prof. Pablo Gregorini

Our 2019 ODPG Conference will be on March 21st/22nd at The Boatshed near Cambridge, and first on our list of speakers is Prof. Pablo Gregorini. He’ll be talking about powerful tweaks to boost pasture production and quality, and he really is a true expert in his field!

Prof. Pablo Gregorini is an award-winning scientist whose interest in nutritional foraging ecology, grazing management and pastoral agricultural systems took him to New Zealand when he accepted a Scientist position in the ‘Feed and Farm Systems Group’ at DairyNZ in 2008. He was quickly promoted to Senior Scientist, in record time. Prof. Gregorini now holds a position at Lincoln University as Professor of Livestock Production. He focuses on grazing management, nutritional ecology of foraging and modelling.

Since his PhD, Pablo has authored over 80 peer-reviewed scientific journal articles in top journals. He is a popular speaker for international audiences, with over 80 invited presentations around the world. In July 2012, Pablo was a keynote speaker of the bi-annual joint meeting of the Australian and New Zealand Societies of Animal Production.

In addition to his research duties in New Zealand, Prof. Gregorini is currently working on nutrition and foraging ecology, and grazing management in different grasslands and rangelands of the world in collaboration with many other noted scientists.

Pablo keeps close to a broader view of agricultural systems, which got him working on issues related to sustainability of agricultural systems around the world beside internationally recognized agricultural systems thinkers. He continues to explore how phyto-chemistry and culture once linked the palates of humans and herbivores with soil, plants and landscapes.

We’re delighted to have Pablo joining us for our conference. If you’d like to attend, please visit our event to find out more.
