Back in 1997, Suzanne’s Simard’s discovery – her doctoral research subject – that trees communicated by means of mycorrhizal networks was largely dismissed at the time as a ‘hippy’ concept. Now, of course, her amazing discovery is recognised by the scientific community and has become accepted fact.
