CONFERENCE UPDATE – 19 MARCH 2023:
The new conference location is the Hamilton area, WAIKATO.
Dates as before: April 19th + 20th
For more information and to book your place, visit our ticketing page.
The ODPG committee recently made the difficult decision to change the location of the 2023 conference due to the devastating, ongoing effects of Cyclone Gabrielle on the Hawkes Bay region. It has become clear that to hold a large conference there would only add to the huge amount of stress the communities are already under.
The date will remain April 19th and 20th, but the location will change to the Waikato region. We are currently finalising the venue and field trips, and will have our new plans in place by the end of the week, with tickets going on sale next week.
Please look out for an announcement coming out with all the new details. The event page will also be updated and a ticket link provided.
Our thoughts go out to all those dealing with the fallout from Cyclone Gabrielle.

ODPG 2023 CONFERENCE | DAY ONE
In the Waikato, we’ll be hosting a wide range of excellent speakers, headlining with renowned soil ecologist, Dr Christine Jones, and a video-conference with Dr Andrew Smith*, the C.O.O of the great Rodale Institute in Pennslyvania. Matt Gallagher will be discussing all things to do with this speciality of Organic Certification, Jono Frew will present on aligning farming with nature for the future, Philippa Jamieson* is researching Meat and Milk: Fake vs Real for the conference, and Nic Conland’s presentation will be about calculating carbon on the farm.
We have also invited the MPI Organic Standard team to attend a Q&A session and update us on progress of the new standard.

*(Dr Andrew Smith and Philippa Jamieson will attend via video conferencing)
ODPG 2023 CONFERENCE | DAY TWO
We will shortly be confirming two exciting field trip venues from amongst the organic and regenerative farms and businesses in the region. Delegates will be divided into two groups to visit our selections, swapping venues after a shared picnic lunch.
