On Patagonia, Capitalism and Regenerative Organic Cotton Farmers

When Yvon Chouinard found out that his company had become a billion-dollar business, he didn’t take it as good news and instead wondered how to make Patagonia act like a small company again. Yvon constantly fights against the system of modern capitalism with the following company mission statement : “Patagonia is in business to save our home planet.”

Patagonia has recently embraced regenerative and organic grown cotton.

We started with 150 farmers in India, small-scale farmers. We talked them into growing cotton with a minimum amount of tilling. Even with cotton now, we’re sequestering carbon. This is a big deal.

The Regenerative Soil Solution Conference 2020

On March 7 & 8th, 2020, we will be holding our Annual Conference and AGM at Lincoln University on the subject of Regenerative Farming. The weekend will consist of a full programme of expert speakers and regenerative farmers, a guided fieldtrip, and a catered m­enu of delicious, local organic food and wines.
