John King on Regenerative Farming

If you do something different measure it and do it for three years because the first year will probably lie to you. Look for trends and be mindful of event blips as they could be your breakthroughs.

Our John King Workshop ‘Holistic Planned Grazing’ is coming up on November 9th. If you’re spending money trying to fix your soil surface and need to address issues of pastures, soils, water quality, weeds and pests, then this course is for you!

Here’s an article by King called ‘Farmers should look for their ‘unfair advantage” (Oct 2017) in which he looks into the methodology of regenerative farming:

Henry Ford famously said. “If you think you can or can’t you’re probably right”. All the farmers participating in regenerative farming didn’t start by knowing the answer. Knowing they want to do something different is what inspires and motivates them. While some take the all or nothing path, the majority start with small, manageable projects. As success and confidence grows more of the farm gets included.

HOLISTIC PLANNED GRAZING WORKSHOP : NOV 9th – CAMBRIDGE, WAIKATO

Without a well-functioning soil surface you’ll invariably be spending money trying to fix it. On this course, we will look at the problems and opportunities you face with pastures, soils, water quality, weeds and pests, and how your farm would benefit if these were addressed. You’ll build an awareness of what to look for in the paddock, and how to relate your findings to landscape function.
